Mena Alexandera Suvari is an American model, actress and fashion designer. Born on 13 February 1979. When she was in 1990, shortly after starting her career as model, Suvari started acting in TV shows like Boy Meets World. In 1997 she made her acting debut as a film actress in Nowhere. The performances she made in American Beauty, for which she was awarded the BAFTA Award nomination and American Pie led to her being the subject of more public attention. The next time she appeared was in Loser (2000) in which she starred alongside American Pie actor Jason Biggs. She was later the lead role for the film Sugar & Spice (2002). The year 2002 saw her appeared in Spun the independent drama and in 2004's thriller Trauma. Her other appearances include HBO's comedy Six Feet Under. The show also featured her in Day of the Dead and The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, and the film version of The Garden of Eden. Suvari has been a model for Lancome Paris Adaptive, and she's been on several blogs and fashion magazines like Vogue. She has backed and served as an advocate for the African Medical and Research Foundation for a number of years. The organization is also active in issues of female empowerment and is associated with groups that support breast cancer awareness and the End Violence Against Women Campaign.
